What I Wore: My Birthday Suit

Choosing what to wear for my birthday was a challenge. There was a candy striped top in Forever 21 that I wanted. However, I had two dilemmas: 1) there was none of it in my size and 2) I wasn't feeling fit enough to show my abs (?). So maybe next time... At least I end up saving some money. I had to make do with what I had in my closet, so I pierced together this year's birthday suit.

And hell no, I wasn't naked! But after purging my closet last year, I only had a few pieces left. I was looking for something that blended well with my then-new hat. The light pink H&M pageboy cap that I got was a treat for myself. First, it was my birthday. Second, I got a perfect mark on my Japanese class final exam! Yatta! What could be a better reward to myself? I bought this the day before my birthday itself.

As soon as I got home from buying the hat, I opened my closet for the perfect match. I spotted the pink ZARA off-shoulder top I've always had. Previously I paired this with jeans, but it perfectly matched my H&M velvet skirt! I capped (hehe) this off with the pageboy cap and my GEOX white sneakers. I also didn't leave home with my trusted Herschel Settlement Mid-volume backpack in Strawberry Ice. 

My birthday this year was pretty fun. I looked the part of the birthday girl while feeling comfortable to walk long distances in the area. Though I have to admit, I got pretty lost on the way there. But birthday celebrator isn't the only impression my outfit left. My friend Abbi's dad thought I was some tourist LOL.
